This fine specimen is from 1971 – a highly collectable and desirable watch dating from the Vietnam era.  This model was so iconic of the time that the GMT was actually worn in the movie Apocalypse Now starring Marlon Brando.  The base model is all stainless but this is the rarer two-tone 14K gold and stainless model.  As a bonus, the watch dial is in stunning condition and features the highly sought “nipple dial” in which the lume was nested atop bezelled gold markers.   Many GMT’s had a flat dial which is sadly lacking when compared to the upgraded model.

This unit had a movement overhaul in 2011 and a full case refinish before being put out for sale.  It is featured with a smartly matched Italian Alligator leather strap.
